Hey Anon team! đź‘‹
I built this page to share more about what I have built recently and why I would love to have the opportunity to work at Anon!

What I have built
I recently launched didtheyghost.me, a platform designed to support fellow interns and job seekers track job applications and making the job search process more transparent. While the GitHub repo is currently private, I would love to share access upon request!
Why did I build this?
During my internship search, I often encountered situations where I wasn’t sure if my applications had been seen or whether I had been ghosted. Of course, there is the general guideline of waiting for 2 weeks for a response after applying.
The reddit screenshot is also an example where many people had similar questions during their intern search.
The job application process often lacks transparency, with many tools focusing primarily on job postings and ignoring the post-application experience. Many companies do not sent rejection emails and as applicants, we wouldn’t be able to know our status and whether we should keep waiting or move on.
This frustration led me to built this platform, a community driven crowdsourced platform that answers the following questions:
- How long does it usually take to hear back from company X?
- Has anyone heard back from this role?
- What are the online assessments/interview rounds like?
- When do company X usually hire?
- And lastly, did they ghost me?
By crowdsourcing updates, applicants can better gauge their application status and make informed decisions about their job search.
Why I’m Interested in Anon
After building the platform, I had decided to launch it in my own country, Singapore by promoting it on my university’s community Telegram channels. This approach allowed me to gauge initial responses and identify my power users/target audience that would use this platform frequently before advertising in other countries.
After launching, I had realised that for such a platform, the most common users that signed up were mostly freshmans/junior students where they don’t have much work experience yet. However, how do i reach out to these category of users? A solution would be Linkedin.
While exploring the Anon docs, I noticed the integration with LinkedIn. This feature excites me because it could enable automated workflows like:
- searching for university freshman profiles
- scanning their connections for more profiles
- sending personalized connection requests and message to promote my platform
While there are tools like Meet Alfred specializing in LinkedIn automation, what makes Anon unique is its ability to integrate workflows across multiple platforms. For example, I would love to see integration with platforms like Reddit, where I could trigger an automation workflow to:
- Search for relevant posts or comments (e.g., the example I mentioned earlier).
- Automatically reply to those comments with a link to my platform, driving engagement and visibility
Another possibility that I would love to explore would be automating the logging of job applications directly into my platform. One key challenge in encouraging users to adopt my platform is reducing friction during their job search process, e.g. filling up the same information twice.
Imagine after applying on any third party job portals (company career pages, Linkedin, Ashby etc), the user’s applied job would automatially be saved to my platform.
There’s definitely more ideas that could be explored given the possibility of automating workflows. I would love to build products that I would personally use, which is why I had built didtheyghost.me and I would love to do the same for Anon.
Minor bugs found
Bug 1) console.anon.com Login Page error
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to https://console.anon.com
- Click on “Or continue using your work email” link
- Click on “Or continue using Google SSO” link
- Click on “Continue with Google” button
- Error page shown as per screenshot
Bug 2) Company Job posting ashbyhq pages link broken
Link broken: For all the job postings, in the line “To learn more about our mission, culture, and the type of candidates we hire, visit careers.anon.com.”
- https://careers.anon.com is not valid link
- it should be https://www.anon.com/careers
Bug 3) Github Chrome extension example link broken in README file
I was browsing the Anon Link Chrome Extension link and landed on the github page,
- in the “Submit to the webstores” section, the bpp link is broken
- it should be https://github.com/marketplace/actions/browser-platform-publisher
Product Enhancement Ideas
Although I have no access to the anon console yet, I would like to suggest some ideas!
Idea 1) Generate workflow based on drag and drop prebuilt instead of only code based
The screenshot above is from UiPath automation, it would be really cool if in the future, for higher level automation, there is a similar workflow where e.g. perhaps instead of having to code the full “Connect to Anon”, it is just a simple flowchart. This would also make it easier for non developers to edit and adjust the workflows.
Idea 2) Add a showcase video for quick start automation examples
This LinkedIn automation post caught my attention, I thought it was really cool! However, it could be even cooler if there was a link to the docs that show how it can be created
- A code snippet or step by step guide to show how to set up this automation in < 5 minutes
- A short video walkthrough to demonstrate how this automation was so simple!
Idea 3) Improving the status when signing up for Anon
I tried signing up for the anon console and saw the waitlisted message. A few thoughts:
-
currently: there is a Copy button beside the “support@anon.com”
- suggestion: the “support@anon.com” could be hyperlinked and open up the email app
- suggestion: have buttons like “Yes, I really want to get access” for the users to click which save them the trouble of emailing or have a textbox for them to input their message
-
currently: in the waitlist email, it states to follow for updates
- suggestion: it would have been great if the “If you really want to get access to Anon, please email us at support@anon.com” message was in the email too, as I closed the sign up website and forgot what was the email
Thank you for taking the time to read this! I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to the team and look forward to hearing from you!
